What is the Building Champions Obstacle Challenge?

Our Building Champions Obstacle Challenge is a fun family event designed to get your child out and actively trying something new! Every obstacle has been specifically designed with children at mind to ensure they have fun and get challenged in a safe and supportive environment.

How much does the Building Champions Obstacle Challenge cost?

Early bird pricing (closes 1 month before each event)
Individual entry – $25 + booking fee

Family Pass – You will automatically receive the below discount on checkout when 2-4 children are selected.

Family pass (2 children) – $45 + booking fee
Family Pass (3 Children) – $65 + booking fee
Family Pass (4 Children) – $85 + booking fee

Who can enter?

Children aged from 3 years to 13 years can enter the Building Champions Obstacle Challenge. Parents are encouraged to participate with their children ( For under 5’s parents a caregivers participation is mandatory)

I have entered, what now?

You will receive a confirmation email from the Building Champions Obstacle Challenge Team with your allocated wave, race pack details and parking information. We will also send out pre-race updates to keep everyone up to date.

Do I have to participate with my child?

If your child is entered in the Nippers Race 3-5yrs YES! You MUST accompany your child. From ages 6-12yr old parent participation is optional but encouraged! We want you to build memories with your child and bring out your inner child!

Race Pack Pick up

Race pack pickups will be available the Saturday before your race which will include your child’s event t-shirt and bib. Exact timings will be communicated in your pre-event email.

Is the event timed and are their places for first finishes?

The Building Champions Obstacle Challenge is a family friendly fun event! There is no official timekeeping our prizes for coming 1st, 2nd or 3rd. We will have a prize giving with spot prizes from our generous sponsors.

When do entries close?

Entries will be open until the day before each event, with limited on the day spaces available.

How long is the race?

Our Nippers race (under 5’s) will cover 10-13 obstacles over a 1km course while the full race will cover a total of 15 obstacles set over 1.5-1.8km course.

What time will my child be running?

The first wave will start at 9:00AM. Children will start their event in age groups according to their bib sticker colour. Exact times for each age group will be communicated in the final pre-event email as these times will vary based on the number of participants registered into each event.

When will the event finish?

The event finish time will differ based on your event wave. Our event prize giving (with spot prizes) will be held at 11.15am with the official event concluding after this.

What time do I need to be at the event?

Please be ready to go at least 30 minutes before your event wave which will be highlighted to all participants in event emails before the big day.

Building Champions Obstacle Challenge Cancellation Policy

Cancellation of registration by participants will incur a $5 cancellation fee provided a cancellation request is sent via email (to info@obstaclechallenge.co.nz) at least 1 week (7 days) prior to the specific event.

No refunds will be given where participants cancel within 1 week, (7 days) of each specific event.
